Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time PATIENT TRANSPORTER positions at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, 200 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204. Online applications only.

Schedule: Full‑time and part‑time schedules; third shift available (9:30 pm to 6:00 am, rotating weekends). Days may vary. Further details will be provided upon interview.

Pay: Fixed rate of $17.00 per hour.

Requirement: Prior customer service experience is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transport patients, securing IVs, drainage tubes, etc.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to carry out duties with competency across all age groups.
• Ensure timely, accurate transport of patients and medical equipment to destinations using appropriate equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception and dispatch.
• Maintain patient comfort by being attentive, offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversation; do not transport patients in severe pain.
• Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report items needing repairs.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and patient rights policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
