• We are hiring immediately for a full-time PATIENT TRANSPORTER position.
• Location: Freeman Hospital West - 1102 West 32nd Street, Joplin, MO 64804. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time schedule. Days may vary, 9:00 pm to 6:00 am; more details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous experience with patient care or transport is preferred, but not required. Willing to train!
• Pay Range: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Transporter

Summary: Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items within the hospital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and the patient.
• Use wheelchairs and other equipment to carry out transportation duties.
• Demonstrate competency in transporting patients of all age groups.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients.
• Ensure patient comfort and privacy during transport.
• Report any patient distress or equipment issues immediately.
• Maintain and report on equipment condition.
• Follow all regulatory standards and hospital policies, including HIPAA.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
