Job summary

WellSpan Health’s WellSpan York Hospital seeks a patient transport assistant. This PRN role involves transporting patients to and from clinical areas, assisting staff with transfers, and following safety guidelines; shifts include Mon-Fri 9a-1p or 10a-2p, plus every other weekend 7:00am-3:30pm.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and Heartsaver CPR/AED on hire. Prior experience is not required, but helpful; train­ing is provided and safety is paramount in all tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required.
• Heartsaver CPR/AED Upon Hire Required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
