Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and assist with patient transport.

Responsibilities

• Transfers patients from one area to another by wheelchair, bed, or stretcher.
• Assists in transport of essential supplies during traumas and cardiac arrests.
• Handles IV bags, oxygen masks, oxygen tanks, urine drainage bags, blood bags, and monitoring devices.
• Transports expired patients to the morgue by stretcher.
• Initiates discharge notification to involved departments for bed turnover.
• Picks up and delivers routine and STAT laboratory specimens, blood, and medical items.
• Uses tele-tracking system.
• Collaborates with staff to meet patient and department needs.
