Job summary

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is a behavioral health facility in Scottsdale, Arizona, offering inpatient and outpatient services. The Patient Transporter drives patients to appointments, performs basic vehicle maintenance, and may assist with patient activities between transports.

This PRN/Per Diem role includes Saturday availability with potential to become full time as the program grows. Minimum education is a high school diploma; nursing assistance coursework is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Education: Minimum two (2) years of education focused on nursing assistance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum Experience: Passenger transportation experience.
• Preferred Experience: Experience working in behavioral health or in a hospital environment preferred.
• Required Certification/ License: Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clear 39 month driving report.
• Preferred Certification/ License: EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from the program and appointments safely and punctually.
• Perform basic automotive maintenance, fueling, fluids checks, and tire inflation.
• Assist with patient activities between transports and help transport meals from external facility.
• May support other facility areas as assigned.

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Our 120-bed facility will offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

The Patient Transporter drives patients to and from the program and various appointments, safely and punctually. These individual conducts basic automotive maintenance, including fueling vehicles, checking and maintaining routine fluid levels, and maintaining proper tire inflation. In between transportation to and from programs, the transporter may assist with patient activities. They will also transport meals from nearby external facility. In addition to these primary transportation functions, the individual may support other facility areas as assigned.

PRN/Per Diem with Saturday availability. Potential to become full time with future growth.
