Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Transport team member at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time role involves moving patients by wheelchair or stretcher, delivering equipment, and supporting nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Candidates must have a high-school diploma, BLS certification, and excellent communication. The job requires heavy physical effort, lifting over 50 lbs and pushes/pulls over 200 lbs, with attention to safety and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education (Required): High-school diploma
• Certification: American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider
• Experience & Skills: Excellent communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Minimum six months customer service or patient transporter experience
• Work conditions include drafts, noise, temperature variation or the like, and handling equipment with risk of minor injuries
• Functional demands are very heavy, needing very high energy level
• Work requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs
• Carry 80 lbs. a distance of 30 feet
• Push/pull > 200 lbs. (i.e. Patients on bed, stretcher)
• Lateral transfer or max assist sit to stand transfer

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or alternative means. This includes disconnecting and re-connecting patient’s IV pumps from the IV pole and oxygen. Delivers patient equipment to nursing floors as needed.
