Job summary

Memorial Health University Medical Center is seeking a dependable Patient Transporter for the day shift on a full-time basis. You will safely move patients throughout the hospital, ensuring comfort, safety, and timely arrivals for appointments and procedures.

Ideal candidates have prior customer service or patient-facing experience and can work in a fast-paced hospital setting while upholding patient dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous customer service, healthcare, hospitality, or patient-facing experience preferred.
• Ability to push, pull, lift, and maneuver patients and equipment safely.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtained within designated timeframe after hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely via wheelchair, stretcher, or hospital bed throughout the facility.
• Assist with patient transfers while following established safety protocols.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
• Respond promptly to transport requests and prioritize assignments appropriately.
• Maintain patient dignity, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
• Transport medical equipment, specimens, and supplies as needed.
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety guidelines.
• Accurately document transport activities according to department procedures.

The Patient Transporter plays an important role in ensuring patients arrive at appointments, procedures, and treatments safely, efficiently, and comfortably.

What you will do in this role:
