Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, Florida is seeking a Patient Transport Care Aide to move patients and equipment within the facility. Responsibilities include safe transfers and documenting transport details in the Transportation system, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

You will communicate with patients, families, and healthcare staff, assist in emergencies, and uphold professional appearance and courteous service as part of the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Clean driving record preferred for Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Transports patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently.
• Assists in the safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Facilitates safe, efficient movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and healthcare staff and records transport details in the Transportation system.

Job Description:

Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Ensures the proper handling and delivery of medical equipment and supplies. Participates in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned. Assists in the safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair. Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs. Transports patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently. Accurately records transport details and reports necessary information using the Transportation system.

• Communication Skills: Able to communicate in English using good diction, and respond to peoples needs in a pleasant and courteous manner as perceived by the customer, and as appropriate to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Technical Skills: Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs.
• Must be proficient in the English language and able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.

• Ability to proficiently perform all care activities safely and in accordance with standards of care.
• Ability to follow patient identification/verification process prior to transporting all patients

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience:

1+ year public contact in a medical setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$15.15 - $22.73
