Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida seeks a Patient Transporter to move equipment and assist in patient transfers. You will communicate with patients, families and healthcare staff to ensure safe, timely transport throughout the facility.

The role requires BLS certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least 1 year of public contact in a medical setting. Pay range is $15.15-$22.73 per hour for full-time day-weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year public contact in a medical setting required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Driver's License preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Move unused equipment to designated storage areas and assist in patient transfers.

Job Description

Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Ensures the proper handling and delivery of medical equipment and supplies. Participates in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned. Assists in the safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair. Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs. Transports patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently. Accurately records transport details and reports necessary information using the Transportation system.

• Communication Skills: Able to communicate in English using good diction, and respond to peoples needs in a pleasant and courteous manner as perceived by the customer, and as appropriate to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.


• Technical Skills: Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs.


• Must be proficient in the English language and able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.

• Ability to follow patient identification/verification process prior to transporting all patients.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]
