Key Responsibilities
- Program Implementation: Design and implement a transportation program for patients, including identifying and implementing NEMT software for scheduling, routing, and dispatching.
- Coordinate Patient Transport: Oversee scheduling and coordination of non-emergency medical transportation services, ensuring timely and safe transport for patients.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare staff, and transportation personnel.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Adhere to safety protocols during transport, check equipment, and secure patients.
- Monitor and Maintain Schedules: Track transportation schedules, prioritize urgent needs, and ensure timely services.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain records and use software to track requests, outcomes, and billing.
- Coordinate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with medical staff to align transportation with patient care needs.
- Handle Special Requests: Accommodate specific patient needs during transport.
- Supervise Transport Staff: Oversee drivers, provide guidance, training, and support.
- Customer Service: Provide compassionate and professional service to patients.
- Problem-Solving: Address issues or delays promptly.
- Crisis Management: Support in emergencies, connecting patients with emergency services.
Fleet Maintenance and Management
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and readiness of fleet vehicles.
- Schedule inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Manage repair requests and coordinate with mechanics.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records.
- Monitor fuel usage and vehicle performance.
Supervises Operations
- Lead program planning, development, and implementation.
- Evaluate program efficiency and recommend improvements.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulations.
- Monitor staff productivity and ensure quality services.
- Ensure staff competency, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training.
- Monitor staff logs, licenses, and insurance.
- Interview, screen, and onboard staff as needed.
- Collaborate with other programs and external sources.
Supervision and Consultation
- Seek supervision and employ suggestions for improvement.
- Enhance clinical skills through ongoing learning.

Administrative Duties
- Participate in Performance Improvement and committees.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Experience in transportation or logistics preferred.
- Experience with NEMT software preferred.
- Ability to prioritize, communicate effectively, work independently and in teams, and manage time well.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of safety protocols, HIPAA, and emergency procedures.
- CPR and First Aid certification (training provided).
- Understanding of psychiatric disorders and crisis intervention.
- Familiarity with healthcare standards and regulations.
