Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a patient transport associate to move patients and items safely within hospital settings. You will communicate with care teams, assist with transfers, and operate transport equipment while ensuring patient safety and adherence to PPE protocols.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, strong verbal communication, and experience in customer service or healthcare support. Training will cover safety procedures, documentation, and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and three years customer service experience
• One year hospital, clinical, or patient care experience preferred
• Must communicate effectively in professional and respectful manner during high-stress situations
• Basic computer skills including Word and Outlook are required

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, visitors, and items safely and efficiently
• Provide detailed verbal handoffs to care team during drop-off and pick-up
• Operate various motorized patient transport equipment
• Assist with transfers using slider boards or ceiling lifts as directed
• Monitor patient condition during transport and respond to emergencies
• Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE requirements, and safety protocols
• Attend meetings outside normal schedule and participate in training as needed
