WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Patient Transporter to support the care team by safely transporting patients and items between testing areas and various departments. The role includes greeting patients, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining equipment and oxygen supply during transport.

The position requires a HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days and a WV background check.

Qualifications

• Obtain HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire date.
• West Virginia background check required, and Federal, if applicable, for DHHR BMS regulated area.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Escorts patients or items safely to appropriate departments.
• Greets patients, identifies self, and assists in preparing for transport.
• Monitors patient's monitoring devices and intervenes in emergencies as needed.
• Transports patients with oxygen and handles oxygen tanks.
• Observes and reports patient concerns or changes to the RN.
• Communicates return of patient to the RN after transport.
• Disinfects wheelchairs and stretchers after use.
• Assists with transport to discharge vehicles on discharge.
• Transports patients and items across WVUH Campus safely and timely.
• Operates patient transport dispatch system as per guidelines.
• Maintains oxygen tank levels on each unit daily.
• Positions wheelchairs and stretchers back to origin.

Formation
