Responsibilities

• Retrieves medical records, laboratory results, supplies, and medications.
• Notifies nursing staff when patient is leaving the unit and when patient returns to the unit.
• Ensures patient’s chart accompanies transport.
• Completes transports within allotted time.
• Collects specimens and blood products and delivers to the correct department.
• Checks oxygen cylinders for safety and full condition.
• Checks in and out of patient transport system.
• Restocks supplies for assigned areas.
• Gathers, cleans, and disinfects equipment and reusable items.
