Job summary

University of Miami seeks a Patient Transporter to support on-site operations at the Miami hospital campus. This full-time role requires reliability, strong teamwork, and the ability to learn new procedures and technologies quickly.

You will retrieve medical records, specimens, supplies and medications; notify nursing staff of patient movements; ensure charts accompany transports; and help maintain safe, timely patient flow. No previous experience is required beyond a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves medical records, laboratory results, supplies, and medications.
• Notifies nursing staff when the patient is leaving the unit and returning.
• Ensures patient’s chart accompanies transport.
• Completes all transports within assigned time parameters.
• Collects specimens and blood products and delivers to the appropriate department.
• Checks oxygen cylinders prior to transport for safety and full condition.
• Checks in and out of the patient transport system.
• Performs supply restocking of assigned area(s).
• Gathers, cleans, and disinfects patient care equipment and reusable items.
