Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Transportation Aide to safely move patients and specimens within our facilities in New Jersey. The role involves wheelchair and stretcher transports, delivering specimens, and assisting in maintaining smooth patient throughput throughout shifts.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, be able to lift and stand for long periods, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher as requested.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory and delivers blood products promptly.
• Collects slides for physicians from the laboratory.
• Obtains supplies from central supply as needed.
• Assists with patient throughput using automated systems.
• Communicates with patients and caregivers at appropriate levels regarding age, culture, language, and accessibility.
• Supports environmental duties and proper disposal of waste.
• Adheres to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
