Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Patient Transport Supervisor to lead the Lift and Transport Team, oversee daily operations, and ensure safe patient movement across facilities. You will mentor staff, coordinate training, track timekeeping, and address performance issues while supporting clinical care operations.

The role focuses on optimizing throughput, prioritizing assignments, and maintaining safe procedures for patient handling. Strong communication and collaboration with care teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and use office equipment.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the role.
• Proficiency with Epic transport systems.
• Ability to work overtime as needed for patient care.
• Must read, write, and speak English effectively.
• Minimum one year in a healthcare setting or training in healthcare/emergency/rescue.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate in a therapeutic manner.
• Current BLS certification required by time of hire.
• Ability to maintain a work pace suitable for patient transport loads.
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Lift and Transport Team, providing leadership, oversight, training, and timekeeping.
• Coordinate with direct patient care providers to support proper patient handling.
• Monitor workflow and mitigate transport delays to improve patient throughput.
• Promote a culture of safe patient handling and a healthy work environment.
