Job summary

Oceans Healthcare in Shreveport, LA seeks a Driver to provide transportation for patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders, supporting the therapeutic milieu and safety. The role emphasizes safe driving, routing checks, and professional patient care per Joint Commission and hospital standards.

The driver collaborates with Nursing and Transportation teams, maintains on-call communication, and participates in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• At least 6 months experience working with psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting preferred
• Must be able to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions

Responsibilities

• Safely transports patients to and from appointments and activities.
• Monitors patient safety and does not leave patients unattended.
• Complies with safety regulations and infection control policies.
• Maintains timely communication with Transportation Coordinator and nursing staff.
• Documents patient observations clearly and accurately.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and data collection.
