Job summary

Oceans Healthcare is seeking a Driver to provide transportation services for patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders within our facility. You will support a therapeutic milieu while ensuring safety, perform vehicle checks, and document observations for nursing staff.

The role requires reading and writing, strong communication, and a warm, empathetic approach. CPR certification and a depescalation program are required, with on-site travel and adherence to all regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred and at least 6 months experience with psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting.
• CPR certification and Oceans approved de-escalation program are required/preferred as part of safety training.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation services to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders while supporting therapeutic milieu and safety.
• Safely drive, comply with traffic laws, and perform routing vehicle checks prior to use.
• Maintain professional patient care standards per Joint Commission and Oceans policies.
• Communicate observations and date accurately to medical staff and relevant parties.
• Coordinate with Transportation Coordinator for pick-up/drop-off schedules and notify nursing staff of absences or delays.
• Participate in performance improvement and data collection initiatives.
