Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support timely patient throughput by coordinating the movement of discharged patients into and through the Discharge Lounge. You will collaborate with inpatient units, transport services, pharmacy and other departments to reduce discharge delays and optimize hospital capacity.

Responsibilities include coordinating discharge flow Monday through Friday, 10am-6pm, with rotating weekends, and meeting basic licensure requirements such as BLS within

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (PCT I).
• PCT II requires either an Associate or Bachelor's degree, or healthcare experience, or enrollment in nursing/healthcare programs, or related CNA/ CMA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the movement of discharged patients through the Discharge Lounge.
• Collaborate with inpatient units, transport services, pharmacy and other departments to reduce discharge delays and optimize capacity.
• Support patient throughput and flow coordination throughout shifts.
