Patient Tech - Surgical Inpatient

Full Time - Evening - 36 Hours

Minimal requirements include:

• High school diploma
• Maryland CNA License
• At least 1 year of hospital-based experience in the last 2 years
• Proficient in phlebotomy, starting IVs, EKG

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Inpatient / IMC Unit (Zayed 11 West) is a 32-bed surgical unit caring for adolescent and adult patients. The unit offers three levels of care: floor, telemetry, and six intermediate care beds. Services include Thoracic Surgery (lung resections, pneumonectomy, esophagectomy), Urology (RRP, TURP), and various general surgeries.

Clinical Technicians at Johns Hopkins Hospital provide highly skilled, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care as part of the healthcare team. Ongoing education ensures technicians perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will attend eight days of off-unit training, offering interactive learning to support your personal and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Maryland CNA Certification
• One year of clinical experience (home care, outpatient, acute care hospital preferred) within the last two years; volunteer work as EMT or CRT may be considered
• BLS CPR certification from AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network
