Job Overview:

The Patient Support Technician assists the OR team with housekeeping, stocking, and patient transport in the Operating Room.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Knowledge of inventory control techniques (Preferred)
• Certified Aide training program (Preferred)
• Proven work record and commitment to continuing education (Preferred)

Certifications and Licenses:

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)

Scheduling Requirements:

• Hours vary
• Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• Assist in appropriate positions for surgical procedures
• Check supplies for outdates
• Organize and prioritize workload, complete case carts
• Facilitate express processing of instruments/trays
• Follow safety and infection control procedures
• Maintain BLS certification
• Protect confidentiality and security of patient and staff information
• Ensure proper working condition of equipment used in patient care
• Perform surgical preps with proper instructions
• Transport and transfer patients as needed
• Respond appropriately to emergencies
• Review sterilizer performance tests and document results
