As a Patient Support Technician, you will play an important behind-the-scenes role in maintaining clean and safe patient care environments, transporting patients to and from the department, assisting with patient positioning and care, and ensuring essential supplies are available when they are needed.

As a Patient Support Technician, a typical day might include the following:

• Cleaning and sanitizing OR rooms, sub-sterile areas, and other assigned department spaces according to established schedules, procedures, and prescribed methods.
• Responding promptly to emergency spills and other urgent cleaning needs to help maintain a safe environment.
• Transporting and transferring patients safely to and from the department while following appropriate patient identification procedures.
• Assisting with patient positioning and other aspects of patient care as directed by the clinical team.
• Remaining attentive to each patient's condition during transport and immediately communicating unusual incidents, changes, or concerns to the RN or appropriate team member.
• Monitoring the oxygen flow meter during patient transport to help ensure adequate oxygen flow throughout the journey.
• Cleaning and disinfecting transport equipment after every patient transport using appropriate disinfecting materials.
• Maintaining appropriate inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and restocking locker rooms, restrooms, storage areas, and other assigned locations.
• Emptying waste baskets, removing trash, and transporting waste from utility rooms and designated collection points to the appropriate disposal areas.
• Scrubbing and buffing floors with approved equipment when requested.
• Washing mop heads and maintaining cleaning equipment so it is ready for use.
• Using department communication tools correctly and responding in a timely manner to requests from patients, staff, and the care team.
• Supporting a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the department.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have an AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED, knowledge of inventory control techniques, and hospital operating room housekeeping experience. This is a Full-Time position, Monday-Friday, 3pm-11:30pm with a weekend on-call requirement.
