Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a patient care technician in the Outpatient Testing-SJS facility. The role involves direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision, with responsibilities across PCT, cardiac monitor, and unit secretary functions as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a BayCare-approved Nurse Assistant/PCT program, including hands-on experience. Shift is 7:30 AM–4:00 PM in the St Josephs South NorthEast Med Building.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications include 6 months acute care experience as a patient caregiver.
• 1 year Skilled Nursing Facility experience as a patient caregiver.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an RN or LPN program.
• Completion of a BayCare-approved Nurse Assistant/PCT program with at least 40 hours hands-on patient care outside of a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
• Perform duties of Patient Care Technician and related roles as assigned.
• Maintain Basic Life Support certification as required.

Summary:

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This is a dual position that includes the job responsibilities of a Patient Care Technician, a Cardiac Monitor Technician, a Visual Monitor, a Mental Health/Patient Care Technician, or a Unit Secretary. Required Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Minimum Qualifications: You may qualify for the position through one of the following ways: 6 months acute care experience as a patient caregiver 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience as a patient caregiver Completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an RN or LPN program Completion of a Baycareapproved Nurse Assistant/PCT program--that includes a program with a minimum of 40 hours hands‑on patient care experience outside of a lab setting Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; may also qualify with a Certificate of Completion
