Qualifications

• High school graduate, or equivalent.

• Previous experience in optometry environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist at various offices within the region performing administrative and clinical tasks to support technicians, opticians, and patient services representatives.
• Support physicians and staff by facilitating the beginning of appointments and ensuring smooth patient flow.
• Welcome patients, prepare them for visits, check them out, take payments, and help schedule follow-up visits.

Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Patient Support Specialists assist at various offices within their region, performing administrative and clinical functions in support of technicians, opticians, and patient services representatives within our optometry practices. If you love variety in your work day, this may be the perfect spot for you!

Our technicians support physicians by completing preliminary testing with patients and facilitating the beginning of the appointment. Opticians counsel patients through the process of selecting the best frames and lenses for their medical needs and personal style. Patient services representatives provide clerical support for the practice. They are the first impression, welcoming patients and preparing them for their appointment, and typically the last stop in a patient visit, checking patients out, taking payments, and assisting with follow-up appointment scheduling.

As a Patient Support Specialist, you have the opportunity to learn all three practice areas!

WORK LOCATION:

This is a traveling position. This person will support our optometry practices in the Fort Wayne, Indiana Region.

What We Offer

• Starting wage of $17.00 - $18.00 based on knowledge, skills, and experience
• Mileage reimbursement issued bi-weekly

Education And/Or Experience

• High school graduate, or equivalent
• Previous experience in medical office and/or direct patient care is preferred
