Position: Patient Service Representative

Location: Cary Dermatology Center

Type: Full-time, 4 days a week, 6:45am-5/5:30pm

We are is dedicated to providing outstanding dermatological care and services to our community. We focus on delivering personalized patient care and ensuring the best outcomes for all our patients.

Role Description

We are looking for a friendly and organized Patient Service Representative to join our dermatology office. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing excellent customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations. This position is front desk, patient facing position.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet patients warmly and ensure a positive first impression.
  • Check patients in and out, verifying insurance information and updating records as needed.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain and organize patient files and records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and confirm upcoming visits.

Communication:

  • Liaise with medical staff to relay messages and coordinate patient care.
  • Inform patients about pre-visit instructions and follow-up procedures.

Insurance Management:

oGather and update insurance cards and details during check-in

oExplain copay amounts, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Previous receptionist experience in a medical or dermatology office preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understand basic insurance terminology (e.g., co-pay, HMO, PPO, deductible)
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits:

  • $19 an hr
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days
  • Paid time off and holidays after 90 days
