Visa Information

Position Description

This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation ofthe clinic patient flow and serving as the primary contact forpatients. Responsible for scheduling appointments, preparingnecessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients,and maintaining records. In addition, this position is responsiblefor processing charges for clinic services, filing insuranceclaims, responding to requests for information from patients andinsurance companies and maintaining related information for thedepartment. Employees may have cash-handlingresponsibilities.

Major/Essential Functions

• Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and relaymessages to the appropriate nurse.
• Accurately enter and update patient demographics to ensureclean insurance claim submissions.
• Respond quickly to patient and insurance company inquiries,including prior authorizations and referrals.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain required authorizationsbefore scheduling appointments.
• Make outgoing calls to patients for appointment reminders,rescheduling, and general clinic communication.
• Document all communications in EMR.
• Handle daily cash transactions, including accepting paymentsand performing end-of-day cash counts.
• Attend and actively participate in monthly departmentalmeetings.
• Maintain current knowledge of department and HSC policies andprocedures to ensure compliance.

Occasional Duties

Occasional travel between Odessa/Midland Pediatric Clinics.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of customer service, office, or relatedexperience. Additional education may substitute for the experiencerequirement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Previous Clinical Experience
