Job summary

Emerson Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to rotate between X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT, and Mammography. You will greet patients, enter exams into HIS/RIS, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality while delivering service excellence.

The position is per diem with a day shift from 8:30a to 12p and a pay range of $20.70 to $23.00 per hour. Prior medical office experience and terminology knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Terminology course preferred.
• Previous coursework related to administrative skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors entering the department.
• Generate and sort exam requisitions, accurately enter exams into the HIS/RIS system.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines and service excellence expectations.
• Be able to read, write, and communicate in English and use medical terminology.
• Work in a fast-paced environment handling phones, verbal reports, and paperwork simultaneously.

About This Role

Reporting to the Lead Patient Service Representative, the Patient Service Representative(PSR) rotates between the departments: X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT, and Mammography. The PSR greets patients and visitors entering the department. The PSR generates and sorts exam requisitions, accurately enters exams into the HIS/RIS system. Must maintain a high level of patient confidentiality via HIPPA guidelines and be committed to Service Excellence at all times.

Schedule: Per Diem

Pay Range: $20.70 - $23.00 / Hourly

Shift: Day shift

Hours: 830a-12p

Minimum Qualifications

• Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Terminology course preferred.
  • Previous coursework related to administrative skills preferred.
• Experience
  • One year in a medical office environment preferred.
  • Customer service, data entry, and HIS/RIS experience a plus.
• Licensure and/or Certification
