Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent is required or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, checks them in and completes registration including demographics, insurance and collection of payments.
• Verifies insurance, authorizations and obtains consent/waivers as appropriate.
• Scans information into the patient record.
• Answers calls/messages/faxes and routes to appropriate individuals/departments.
• Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows clinic scheduling policies.
• Facilitates coordination of nurse, physician, and patient time to expedite care.
• Directs patients to ancillary services as needed.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewWorks in the various reception areas throughout the Clinic and is responsible for helping the patients to access the Clinic's system for care.What you will doWelcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration which includes verifying demographics, insurance and collection of any service payments.Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and getting consent and waiver forms signed as appropriate.Responsible for scanning all pertinent information into the patient’s record.Answers and addresses calls, messages and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed.Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time. Acts as public relations agent for the physicians by serving the patients in a friendly, efficient manner.
