Job summary

Mendocino Community Health Centers (MCHC) is seeking a Patient Services Representative to greet patients, schedule visits, and manage registrations. You will verify insurance eligibility and connect patients with financial resources, while handling payments and documentation with accuracy.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in healthcare or customer service and are bilingual in English and Spanish. This on-site role offers a Cadillac Benefits Package including health coverage, PTO and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two+ years in healthcare or customer service preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish fluent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Schedule and manage appointments and follow-ups.
• Register and check in patients; maintain accurate EHR data.
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with financial resources.
• Assist patients with forms and documentation.
• Collect and post copayments and other payments accurately.
• Answer calls and route inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Communicate wait times and notify staff for urgent needs.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients and visitors and provide friendly, professional assistance.
• Schedule appointments and follow-up visits.
• Register and check in patients and maintain accurate information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Verify insurance eligibility and connect patients with financial assistance resources when needed.
• Assist patients with forms, consents, and other required documentation.
• Collect and accurately post copayments and other patient payments.
• Answer calls, respond to voicemail, and connect patients with the appropriate resources.
• Communicate wait times and promptly alert clinical staff when patients need immediate attention.
