Job summary

Mendocino Community Health Centers (MCHC) is seeking a Patient Services Representative to greet patients, schedule appointments, register and check in patients, and maintain accurate information in the EHR.

If you are friendly, organized, and bilingual (English/Spanish), you will verify insurance, assist with forms, collect copayments, answer calls, and help connect patients with financial resources, all while enjoying our Cadillac benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two+ years in healthcare or customer service preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors with friendly, professional assistance.
• Schedule appointments and follow-up visits.
• Register and check in patients in the EHR with accurate information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and connect patients with financial resources.
• Assist patients with forms and other required documentation.
• Collect and post copayments and other payments accurately.
• Answer calls and respond to voicemail, directing to appropriate resources.
• Communicate wait times and alert staff when immediate attention is needed.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients and visitors and provide friendly, professional assistance.
• Schedule appointments and follow-up visits.
• Register and check in patients and maintain accurate information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Verify insurance eligibility and connect patients with financial assistance resources when needed.
• Assist patients with forms, consents, and other required documentation.
• Collect and accurately post copayments and other patient payments.
• Answer calls, respond to voicemail, and connect patients with the appropriate resources.
• Communicate wait times and promptly alert clinical staff when patients need immediate attention.
