Position: Patient Services Representative - Per diem

Hours will vary, Monday through Friday.

Summary:
  • The Patient Services Representative (PSR) will work collaboratively with hospital services, medical staff, and administration to ensure quality patient care. They will participate in departmental quality control and performance improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient interviews, verify information via online software, and assign benefits in the hospital information system.
  • Explain and obtain signatures on HIPAA Privacy Notice, verify eligibility and benefits, obtain authorizations/pre-certifications and referrals.
  • Identify and collect co-pays, post payments, perform daily cash reconciliation, and adhere to deposit standards.
  • Obtain referrals, communicate with insurance companies, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Scan documentation into EHR, place orders in clinic software, and answer phones interactively.
  • Schedule patient evaluations, ensure accuracy, and inform patients of appointment details.
Credentials:

High School Diploma/GED required. Equivalent experience considered.
