UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is hiring a Full-Time Patient Services Representative to support Complete Primary Care Brentwood.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Location: Brentwood, with occasional travel to other offices

Department Details: This is a large office with a friendly team!

Purpose

A Patient Services Representative welcomes patients, promotes new consumer-friendly technologies, educates about copayments and financial obligations, schedules appointments, connects patients to financial advocacy resources, updates patient information, and fosters a culture of service excellence. The role requires strong customer service skills to ensure a positive UPMC experience at various facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients warmly
  • Assist patients with self-arrival technology or check-in at the desk
  • Collect copayments and applicable payments at the point of service
  • Update patient registration information at checkout
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and ancillary services
  • Help patients navigate the healthcare system with clear instructions
  • Follow up on unresolved patient questions to ensure continuity of care
  • Understand service recovery principles and take appropriate actions
  • Register patients in the Biometrics program and explain its benefits
  • Promote and assist with MyUPMC portal registration
  • Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect them to advocacy resources
  • Verify insurance benefits via online systems or phone
  • Obtain signatures for treatment and financial consent following HIPAA rules
  • Manage phone calls and assist with administrative tasks such as scanning and faxing
  • *Perform duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors
  • *Perform other duties as assigned
