Job Summary

This incumbent is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic good will for the practice while providing optimum services to patients and visitors. This position will float to all Hospital Operations business units to perform a variety of duties, providing front desk office support, patient registration, patient discharge support, patient-related hospitality, and call center support for the assigned department/clinical team within Hospital Operations, including various shifts and lengths of assignments.

Percentages of time allocated to functions are guidelines only. Actual time may vary based on department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School / GED or related work experience
• Effective interpersonal skills for patient and co-worker interactions
• Proficiency in computer applications including email, spreadsheets, and medical office management software
• Typing skills for accurate data entry
• Strong writing skills in English
• Bookkeeping skills for financial transactions and record keeping
• Organizational skills to prioritize work effectively
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and confidentiality laws
• Understanding of health care insurance systems and billing procedures
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical settings or hospitals
• Experience with medical insurance verification
• At least two years of customer service or call center experience
• Experience with appointment scheduling and patient registration
• Knowledge of EHR systems, especially EPIC
