Job summary

Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls seeks a Front Desk Concierge to greet patients, register them, verify demographics and insurance, and collect payments. You will manage insurance authorizations, obtain consent forms, and scan records into the system while routing calls and preserving confidentiality.

The role supports smooth clinic operations by coordinating with nurses and physicians to accelerate patient care, and by guiding patients to needed services in a friendly, efficient manner.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent required, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and maintain confidentiality.
• Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Must be able to work the hours specified (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM).

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients, checks them in and completes registration, verifies demographics and insurance, collects service payments as needed.
• Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations, and obtaining consent/waivers as appropriate.
• Scans pertinent information into the patient record.
• Answers calls/messages/faxes and routes to appropriate departments.
• Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows scheduling policies.
• Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time.
• Acts as public relations agent for physicians and directs patients to ancillary services.
