Job summary

Avera Oncology & Hematology Aberdeen is seeking a registration/front-desk professional to welcome patients and manage their check-in process. You will verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and sign required authorizations or waivers.

The role requires attention to confidentiality and strong communication with patients and staff. Responsibilities include scanning documents, routing calls, maintaining appointment schedules, and coordinating care to ensure timely access to services

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to work hours specified (M–F 8–5, some Fridays) and handle patient interactions with confidentiality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, complete registration including demographics and insurance.
• Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and have consent/waivers signed as applicable.
• Scan and file relevant information into the patient record.
• Answer calls, faxes, and route to appropriate departments.
• Manage appointment scheduling and adhere to policies.
• Coordinate care by facilitating nurse, physician, and patient time.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and direct patients to needed services.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewWorks in the various reception areas throughout the Clinic and is responsible for helping the patients to access the Clinic's system for care.What you will doWelcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration which includes verifying demographics, insurance and collection of any service payments.Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and getting consent and waiver forms signed as appropriate.Responsible for scanning all pertinent information into the patient’s record.Answers and addresses calls, messages and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed.Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time. Acts as public relations agent for the physicians by serving the patients in a friendly, efficient manner.
