Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 2 years in a doctor’s office or hospital environment; medical terminology knowledge preferred but not required.
• Knowledge and sensitivity to multicultural groups and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Licensure or ability to obtain licensure when credentials warrant.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and verify demographic information at each visit.
• Obtain accurate financial information for patient profiles.
• Collect and verify Medicare/Medicaid/Third Party insurance details.
• Input demographic and financial data into the Patient Management System.
• Explain sliding fee percentage based on approved scales.
• Collect co-payments and private payments at time of service.
• Post daily encounters and complete deposit tickets as required.
• Schedule appointments and handle reminders and follow-ups.
• Answer calls and monitor messages; respond within 48 hours.
