Job summary

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and oral swabs.
• Research test/client information and verify all orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
• Data entry for patient registration and test orders from requisitions or databases.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
• Data entry and processing of specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic info / initials post-venipuncture to ensure tubes are labeled correctly.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (e.g., maintenance and temperature logs) promptly.
• Complete training courses and keep up-to-date with phlebotomy techniques.
• Stay up-to-date on company communications.
