Job summary

The candidate will handle patient interactions, charting from admission to discharge, coordinate admissions and transfers, and assist nurses with medications and clerical duties in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent.
• Training: Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant Training preferred (Cerner CIS).
• Special Skills: Communication, Customer Service, Computer Skills; knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain the patient chart from admission to discharge.
• Process patient orders, requests for exams and other services (x-ray, lab, transport) accurately and timely.
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Retrieve medications from the pneumatic tube system or pharmacy and deliver to nurse.
