UPMC is hiring a full-time Patient Services Representative to support patient intake at UPMC Lockhaven. The role involves greeting patients, guiding them through self-arrival technology, collecting copayments, updating demographics, and scheduling follow-ups within the continuum of care.

Typical duties include assisting with insurance verification, promoting the MyUPMC portal, and connecting patients to financial advocacy resources.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in medical/billing/customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide a warm greeting for all patients.
• Guide patients through self-arrival technology or check-in at desk.
• Collect copayments and other payments at the point of service.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information at checkout.
• Schedule follow-up appointments within the practice.
• Connect patients to resources for ancillary services.
• Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system with clear instructions.
• Ensure continuity of care with follow-up on unresolved questions.
• Explain HIPAA rules and responsibilities and obtain signatures as needed.
• Triage calls and route to appropriate clinical areas.
• Assist with administrative duties including scanning and faxing.
• Promote the MyUPMC patient portal and assist with registration.
