Job summary

Kovach Eye Institute in South Barrington, IL seeks a Patient Services Representative to greet patients, verify insurance, schedule visits, and manage front-desk duties in a busy ophthalmology practice.

You will handle patient communications, process payments, file claims, enter data into the EHR, and support the Central Billing department. The position offers comprehensive training, paid holidays, PTO, and opportunities for certification.

Prior office experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, assist in patient communications and recalls.
• Respond to patient inquiries about billing, procedures, policies and services.
• Prepare patient charts prior to appointments and ensure accuracy at arrival.
• Verify insurance, obtain pre-authorizations, and balance payments.
• Process daily deposits, balance cash drawer, and submit essential reports.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, assist in patient communications and recalls
• Respond to patient inquiries about billing, procedures, policies and available services
• Prepare patient chart prior to appointment and complete upon patient arrival
• Efficiently process patients through checkout by verifying chart documentation and insurance information, accepting and posting payments, preparing and filing clean claims, authorizing insurance and billing, scheduling referrals, and entering data into EHR
• Perform end of day tasks, including balancing cash drawer, processing daily deposits, evaluating data from reports
• Monitor patient flow and communicate delays
• Maintain safe and clean office environment
• Perform other duties as determined by office manager and doctors
