Job summary

GuideWell Emergency Doctors is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to support its non-hospital-based emergency care delivery. The role emphasizes accurate patient data entry, insurance verification, authorization processes, and coordinating admissions in a fast-paced clinical office setting.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, be capable of standing for long periods, and comfortable using standard office equipment. Bilingual Spanish is preferred to assist a diverse patient base.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test.
• Able to perform duties in a busy office environment (standing, walking, teaching, public speaking, pulling, pushing, lifting, etc.).
• Ability to use all necessary office equipment (faxes, copiers, computers, telephones, etc.).
• Able to stand and work up to 12-hours in a day.
• Languages: Legibly write English, clearly speak English and read English; bilingual Spanish is preferred.
• Travel up to 30% to support clinic operations across the market.

Responsibilities

• Entering new patients into the patient database.
• Verifying insurance.
• Getting authorization from insurance companies.
• Putting together patient charts.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Collecting copays and contracted rates from patients.
• Coordinating admissions.
• Auditing charts for completeness and obtaining any missing information from the clinical team.
• Following information security policies and management system, reporting on their performance.
