Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Nevada in Las Vegas is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to provide an exceptional patient and visitor experience. You will handle registration, scheduling, triage and insurance verification on-site in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience, or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree. Strong PC skills and a customer-service mindset are essential, with opportunities for growth within the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service.
• OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience.
• OR a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Working knowledge of PC window applications.
• Ability to perform basic math sufficient to process insurance co-pays.
• Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
• Type a minimum of 30 words per minute (preferred).
• Epic experience (preferred).
• Experience in a medical setting (preferred).
• Executive assistant experience (preferred).

• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using the HEART model.
• Create a welcoming, professional environment and ensure stellar patient experiences.
• Perform patient registration, visit preparation, telephone triage, insurance verification, co-pay collection, patient/record tracking, scheduling and related desk activities.
• Enter and maintain confidential patient information.
• Recruit, enroll and educate patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass.

A caregiver in this role works onsite Monday to Friday days from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. a new position for a new office of Executive Health opening in November. Located at 6111 South Buffalo Drive Las Vegas NV 89113

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insuranceprocessingor customer service
• OR anAssociate’s Degreeand one year of experience
• OR aBachelor’s Degree
• Working knowledge of PC window applications
• Ability to perform basic math sufficient to process insurance co-pays

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute or personal computer keyboard skills
• Epic experience
• Experience in a Medical setting
• Executive assistant experience

Physical Requirements:

• Dexterity sufficient to operate a PC and other office equipment.
• Requires extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
• Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
• Must be able to navigate various locations and function in a fast-paced, hectic environment.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
