Job summary

Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Offices in Milwaukee, part of Advocate Health, is seeking a Patient Service Representative to support providers, connect with patients, and ensure a seamless, compassionate experience daily.

Responsibilities include scheduling, handling information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other inquiries; schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with some close-shift coverage and possible travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Experience handling difficult callers/patients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, high-quality service to patients arriving for appointments or calling for information.
• Assist with scheduling, tests/procedures, billing questions, referrals and other inquiries.
• Support ambulatory care team to ensure a seamless, compassionate patient experience.

We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years related customer service experience
• Experience handling difficult caller/customers/patients.

What You’ll Do:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. No weekends, no holidays with some flexibility needed for the closing shift of 8:30am - 5:00pm. Some travel may be required to other locations, such as Suite 880 or 4131 W Loomis Rd, Suite 110.

As a Patient Service Representative (PSR), you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

• Patient Services: Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters.
• Billing Services: Ensures entry at time of service of billing information on the patient and payer and accurate follow-up on missing information.
• Medical Record Services: Upholds standards of the practice and of the medical group for accurate and timely medical records.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• This position may require travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Exposed to a normal office environment with significant patient and public contact. May be exposed to ill or contagious patients.
• Must be able to transition from sitting to standing frequently. Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and be physically mobile throughout the workday.
• Frequently lifts to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifts 20 lbs. or more. This occurs when moving equipment and supplies and when transporting patients and/or charts.
• Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Sensory requirements include vision, hearing and touch. Must also be able to speak clearly.
• Must be able to use hands with fine motor skills for keyboard data entry.
