Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience by providing exceptional customer service. This role involves scheduling appointments, managing patient records, answering inquiries, and facilitating effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients as they arrive and manage wait times.
  • Assist patients with intake processes, including copying required documents.
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles; issue receipts.
  • Manage cashier box and daily deposits according to policies.
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments, focusing on physician requested return visits.
  • Schedule referrals as indicated.
  • Assist with patient outreach (e.g., next-day reminders).
  • Manage medical records: maintain, file, scan, and prepare for schedules.
  • Ensure all correspondence is scanned and filed timely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of related work experience, including data entry.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to sort and file materials accurately.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills (AIDET).
  • Successful completion of initial competency assessment after training.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Clear and courteous communication with patients and external parties.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Understanding of administrative processes and organizational policies.
  • Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
  • Proficient in patient check-in, check-out, and referral processes.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Use fine motor skills to operate office equipment.
  • Receive and understand instructions verbally and in writing.
  • Apply logical reasoning for problem solving.
  • Travel to multiple locations as needed.
