Job summary

BJC Medical Group is seeking a full-time Patient Services Representative for the OBGYN practice located off Ladue Road. You will be the first contact for front office activities, performing patient check-ins and appointment scheduling.

The role requires maintaining patient financial records, accurate data entry for clinic charges, and professional communication. 40 hours weekly, day shift, benefit eligible, with no call, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 2–5 years in a front desk or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Handles telephone calls from patients and staff; forwards calls requiring triage.
• Performs receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism.
• Verifies health insurance payment information and educates patients on the applicable regulations; collects payments and records data.
• Performs data entry of service charges, including assignment of diagnostic codes and entering physician/clinic charges.
• Coordinates information with Central Billing Office to ensure charges are captured and properly collected.

Role Purpose

The Patient Services Representative acts as the initial point of contact for front office activity and helps directs the patient flow process at the physician office. This position performs patient check-ins and appointment scheduling. This position also maintains patient financial records and may serve as a switchboard operator as needed.
