Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Patient Service Representative. The role covers front desk activities, greeting patients, registering new patients in EPIC, and scheduling tests as requested by physicians.

You will verify insurance benefits, process charges, and assist with office setup and patient flow. This is a full-time role with regular and rotating hours to meet clinic needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Keyboard and computer skills required.
• A valid driver's license is required for off-site work with evidence of coverage may be requested.
• Three months minimum experience in business office or healthcare preferred.
• Insurance, managed care or integrative medicine experience preferred.
• Medical terminology or coding experience recommended.
• Bilingual Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provides front desk coverage: answers calls, schedules appointments, greets patients, registers new patients in EPIC.
• Schedules laboratory and off-site diagnostic tests requested by physician and verifies insurance eligibility.
• Interprets covered benefits, processes charges, applies insurance, calculates adjustments and records payments.

Hourly Pay Range

$18.38 - $26.65 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Service Representative (PSR) - Multiple Specialties (OBGYN, Peds, Endo, Neph, and Pulm)

• Location: 1200 S York Street, Elmhurst, IL

• Full Time: 40 hours a week

• Office Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM. Rotating Saturdays 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Schedule varies between Office Hours.

• Required Travel: This role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needs

What you will do

• Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides front desk coverage. Answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, greets patients, registers new patients in EPIC, schedules laboratory and off-site diagnostic tests requested by physician, verifies insurance eligibility and interprets covered benefits. Processes patient charges by totaling fees, applying insurance coverage, calculating adjustments, and receiving and recording payments in computer system. Clinic set-up and other office support.

What you will need

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Keyboard and computer skills

• A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.

Preferred

• A minimum of three months previous business office OR healthcare based experience

• Previous insurance, managed care, and integrative medicine experience preferred

• Medical terminology or coding experience

• Bilingual Spanish helpful, but not required
