Greene Resources is seeking a patient-focused professional to serve as a Patient Service Representative/Medical Scheduler in Charlotte, NC. You will coordinate appointments, manage provider schedules, and ensure accurate patient records in the EHR while delivering compassionate service.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and experience with medical terminology and scheduling software. Monday–Friday, full-time, direct hire, $27/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, consultations, procedures, and surgeries by phone, email, and in person.
  • Manage provider schedules to optimize time use for providers and patients.
  • Communicate with providers and staff to confirm availability and coordinate care.
  • Reschedule appointments as needed based on patient needs or changes in the schedule.
  • Provide patients with appointment details and preparation instructions.
  • Confirm upcoming appointments and send reminders to reduce cancellations.
  • Manage waiting lists and urgent requests as needed.
  • Answer calls and respond to patient questions professionally.
  • Verify insurance coverage and document insurance information.
  • Enter and maintain patient demographics, scheduling, and insurance data in EHR.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and laws.
  • Collaborate with teams to support daily operations.
  • Provide courteous, compassionate service during every interaction.

Job Description

  • Communicate with providers, clinical teams, and other staff members to confirm availability and coordinate patient care.

  • Confirm upcoming appointments and send reminders to help reduce cancellations and no-shows.
  • Manage waiting lists and assist with accommodating urgent or time-sensitive appointment requests.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond promptly and professionally to patient questions and requests.
  • Verify insurance coverage and accurately document relevant insurance information when required.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate patient demographic, scheduling, and insurance information in the electronic health record and scheduling systems.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements and all applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient daily operations.
  • Provide courteous, compassionate, and professional service during every patient interaction.
