Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital, Inc. seeks a dedicated outpatient patient support specialist to join our Tulsa clinic.

You will coordinate appointments, process prescriptions, manage communications, and support care teams with a focus on patient service and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include scheduling, demographics collection, billing setup, maintaining records, and assisting in care coordination while upholding HIPAA and other policies.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required. At least 1 year healthcare related education preferred (medical assistant program, psychology courses, etc).
• Demonstrated PC skills and understanding of healthcare delivery in the medical office.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communications.

Responsabilidades

• Greets and engages patients and visitors according to established protocols, providing excellent customer service.
• Communicates schedule and clinical information to patients, co-workers, and clinic staff as needed.
• Assists in coordination of care through messages, faxes, phone calls, emails, etc., for providers and patients.
• Schedules tests and appointments for referred services and tracks completion.
• Registers demographic and billing information, determines eligibility and benefits.
• Maintains medical records, scans, files, and test results.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer daily; prepares deposits.
• Ensures provider schedules are distributed appropriately.
• Adheres to HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission, PQRS policies.

Please note: This position is at Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital in the Outpatient Clinic. Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Summary

Provides support for outpatient behavioral healthcare practices while demonstrating excellent customer service. Maintains regulatory compliance by coordinating with internal and external customers (clinicians, patients, patient family members, vendors, visitors, colleagues, etc.) in order to process assigned patient support services including patient appointments, prescription requests, office visits, phone calls, letters, and communication documentation.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or GED required. At least 1 year healthcare related education preferred, medical assistant program, psychology courses, etc.

Work Experience

1 year related experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Greets and engages patients and visitors according to established protocols, demonstrating excellent customer service in every interaction. Communicates schedule and clinical information to patients, co-workers, and clinical staff as needed and appropriate. Assists in coordination of care through messages, faxes, phone calls, emails, etc. for communication to providers, patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare resources. Schedules tests and appointments for referred services and tracks to ensure completion. Addresses work queue tasks and provides communication and documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Schedules appointments according to established protocols. Registers demographic and billing information and determines eligibility and benefits to accommodate patient's care. Successfully uses computer software applications to accomplish tasks according to policies and procedures. Maintains medical records including collection of patient forms, scanning, filing of correspondence, and test results. Prepares cash receipts, bank deposits, and balances cash drawer on a daily basis. Maintains and distributes provider schedules appropriately. Participates in quality initiatives and safety functions. Assists in identifying and ordering needed supplies. Remains informed and compliant with current Health System, OSHA, Joint Commission, PQRS, and HIPAA policies and procedures.

Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
