Position Overview
We are expanding our healthcare team and are seeking a professional, organized, and empathetic Patient Service Coordinator to fill immediate openings at our Seattle hospital facility.
In this role, you will serve as a vital liaison between patients, medical staff, and administrative teams. Operating in a fast-paced hospital environment, you will manage front-desk operations, facilitate smooth intake processes, handle scheduling and inquiries, and ensure a supportive, efficient experience for patients and their families.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Patient Care & Front Desk Support: Greet patients, family members, and visitors upon arrival with professionalism and empathy. Check patients in, verify identity, and manage waiting area traffic flow.
Intake & Registration: Gather and verify patient demographic, insurance, and billing information. Process initial intake forms, issue visitor badges, and handle parking validations.
Scheduling & Administrative Coordination: Answer incoming calls, route messages to appropriate clinical staff, schedule or reschedule medical appointments, and send appointment reminders.
Records & Documentation: Assist with managing electronic health record (EHR) entries, scan necessary medical documents, and ensure forms are correctly completed prior to clinical visits.
Departmental Support: Coordinate with cross-functional teams including clinical staff, billing, transport, and interpretation services to accommodate patient needs and support daily operations.
Compliance & Privacy: Strictly adhere to institutional policies, HIPAA regulations, and patient privacy standards. Securely handle, store, and discard confidential medical files.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED is strictly required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years providing administrative, front-desk, or customer service support, with a strong background in managing complex inquiries. Prior experience in a hospital or clinical healthcare setting is highly preferred.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and administrative leadership.
Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; proficiency with office technology and medical scheduling/EHR systems; ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure in a busy healthcare environment.
