Job summary

110 Albany Medical College is seeking a Per Diem position for the Latham Multispecialty department to assist in patient registration and scheduling. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma/G.E.D. and 2-3 years of office experience, preferably in a medical practice.

About the Role

Department/Unit: Latham Multispecialty
Work Shift: Per Diem (United States of America)
Salary Range: $46,215.00 - $60,080.00

This is a Per Diem position to assist in coverage for the Albany Medical Center Saratoga, Malta, and Clifton Park Multispecialty Offices.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for registration and scheduling process for complex patients.
  • Update the system with registration, scheduling and insurance information.
  • Prepare patient disability and out‑of‑work / school paperwork.
  • Discuss financial obligation and explain regulatory forms, answering any questions.
  • Work in multiple systems during patient-facing interactions and telephone call receipts to complete accurate registration and support the clinical workflow.
  • Understand the practice and hospital strategic plan.
  • Support plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives within the scope of departmental expectations and role.
  • Represent AMC and support the ideals and principles of the department, the Practice, the Hospital, and the Center.
  • Exemplify Albany Med CARES guiding principles and champion an optimal patient experience.
  • Promote patient and employee safety as the top priority and promptly report issues.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. – required.
  • 2‑3 years office experience or one year of related experience in a medical practice – preferred.
  • Experience using an electronic health record and Microsoft Office – a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high patient volume unit.
  • Ability to learn and utilize resources.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to review information and draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Good judgment and problem‑solving skills; ability to escalades issues as needed.
